2019 Festival 

Now in its 6th edition, the Festival expanded upon the previous year's successful promenade concert experience and in order to make ir accessible to a wider audience, a similar event was held in the cultural centre of the neighbouring village Arles-Sur-Tech.

17th July 2019 - Church of Prats de Mollo la Preste

This concert featured Schubert's String Quintet in C major, D. 956, which was combined with a range of other pieces from differing periods. The pieces flowed into one another without a pause and the full scope of the church's space was used, with music coming from the balcony and side-vaults. The order was as follows:

  • J. Sibelius Duo for violin and viola in C major (composed in 1891-92)

  • 1st movement of Schubert's Quintet 

  • Andante from the 2nd violin sonata  by J. S. Bach (composed in 1720)

  • 2nd movement of Schubert's Quintet

  • Signs, games, and messages "Doloroso" by György Kurtág (composed in 1992)

  • 3rd movement of Schubert's Quintet

  • «Up, Down, Sideways, Round» by Garth Knox (composed in 2001 à 2007)

  • 4th movement of Schubert's Quintet

19th  July 2019 @ 6PM - Promenade concert at the Moulin des Arts in Arles-Sur-Tech

An interactive and immersive concert taking place in various indoor and outdoor locations around the Moulin des Arts. Featuring works by Bach, Garth Knox, Bartok, Kurtag, Norwegian folk music and improvisation.
